Only whitetail deer legally harvested in Texas are eligible.
Deer harvested on high fenced ranches are only eligible for the AntlerMax protein and Best High Fence categories.
You may submit the skull or cap for scoring, but we prefer to see the deer intact. It makes a better picture for our entry board and website.
Scoring will be from 8 am to 5pm, M-F at Temple or Belton Feed.
Entries will be scored based on gross Boone and Crockett scoring.
Entries must be scored by a member of the judging committee from Temple or Belton Feed & Supply. Scores from other deer contests or other official scorers will not be accepted.
Once a deer has been scored, it becomes your official entry into the contest. You cannot bring in a bigger deer later to score for that entry.
You may enter another buck only if you have paid another entry fee.
No drying time is required for antlers; they may be scored "green."
All scoring and decisions made by the judging committee are final.
You MUST enter the contest BEFORE your deer is harvested.
All deer must be presented for scoring by Jan. 31, 2010.
Contest winners will be notified by Feb. 15, 2010.
You may only win in one category, at the committee's discretion. You may, however, win in a joint category with another entrant who has not won in a different category.
Youth division is open to ages 15 and younger as of Oct. 1, 2009.
Crossbows are not eligible for the Archery Division.
Contest will operate on the honor system. Rule-breakers will be disqualified and anyone who breaks state game laws will be reported.
Price limits will be set for contest prizes.
Contest proceeds will go toward prizes and next year's contest. |
